What is Vinetech Managed Services?

Vinetech Managed Services is a service that lets you not have to worry about the general administration, maintenance and security of your computer.  Things like making sure there aren’t any issues on your computer, patches and updates Windows, antivirus monitoring and updates, web filtering, service checks, de-fragmenting your hard drives, clearing out temporary files and even backups can be managed remotely by us.  Allowing you to get on with your work (or play).

What is involved? 

We install a small, unobtrusive, tray application that sits quietly in the background.  As well as providing you a quick and easy way to get a hold of us or send us information, the tray application monitors your computer for a various health metrics and runs routine maintenance and program updates silently for you.  It also allows us to respond quickly to any extra issues you have using remote desktop applications.

I know about computer, I don’t need this. 

We know more about computers than most and we use it to monitor our own computers.  The checks are comprehensive and automatic, even if you know how to check that a vital service is running and reset it manually if it stops, do you check that service every minute?  Who has time?  It also saves time by not having to bother with routine maintenance.  We can script maintenance if you have any specific requirements.

What devices can you manage?

We can manage servers and workstations (Windows, Linux or Mac).  We can also monitor smartphones (Android or IOS).

We can manage as many of these devices as you have.  If you’ve got a small business with a dozen computers and smartphones – we can do that too.

I can’t afford it / How much does this cost?

Will this slow down my computer and use up memory?

5MB memory is used when running and it requires just a tiny 5MB of disk space – with its load on the server barely registering on Task Manager.   Some processes that we run for maintenance on your computer will use extra processing power and memory but we schedule these for quiet periods and can adjust the schedule as needed.  Most people forget it is even running at all.

Is it secure?

The agent is only accessible to Vinetech with a long, randomly generated key.  All communication over the internet is done via SSL
